We are now accepting applications for two summer internship programs for 2027. The SMTB Alumni Summer Research Program is for SMTB alumni, and Life Sciences Summer Internship Program - for all other eligible students.

Both programs provide funding for research internships in the life sciences at host institutions around the world. Internships last from six weeks to three months and take place during the summer of 2027.

Applicants must secure a host laboratory placement before applying. Bachelor’s and Master’s students who have not yet been accepted into a PhD program are eligible to apply.

Applications for both programs are submitted through a common application form. Applicants will be directed to the appropriate application form based on whether they are SMTB alumni. Each applicant may apply to only one of the two programs.

Applications will be reviewed and assessed separately for the two programs.

The application deadline is January 15, 2027. Results will be announced by mid-April 2026.
