Results of the SMTB-2022 Admission
SMTB Admission Committee has sent the results of the admission to SMTB-2022. We had more than 120 interviews with candidates and finished assessing the applications after a two-month pause. Each applicant should have received an email with the decision of the Admission Committee.

SMTB Admissions Committee would like to inform you that we are pausing our work for one month. We will send an update on April 3. We pray for the safety of all of our applicants caught in the warzone.
Call for applications to the SMTB-2022 closed
The admission call to the School of Molecular and Theoretical Biology 2022 is now closed. The continuing restrictions due to the pandemic do not let us be confident that SMTB can be held offline in 2022. If the situation allows, SMTB-2022 will take place at the University of Tartu in Estonia. If not, SMTB-2022 will be organized online in two parts, similar to that we have done in 2020 and 2021. In this case the School will start in mid-July and end in mid-August. The final decision, and the exact dates of the online version, will be announced in the beginning of May and will be communicated to the accepted students and their parents. SMTB is generously supported by the Zimin Foundation with additional support from the HHMI and Petrovax.

Zimin Foundation - SMTB Alumni Summer Research Program 2022: Call for Applications
We are starting to admit applications to the Zimin Foundation - SMTB Alumni Summer Research Program for 2022. SMTB alumni who were accepted to SMTB through the Russian-speaking application process and have not yet been accepted into a PhD program are eligible to apply. The deadline for the applications is January 15, 2022.
SMTB-2021 Format
We would like to announce our decision that SMTB-2021 will take place online. The organization of the coming season will be similar to SMTB-2020. The School will consist of two parts. During the first one we will offer preparatory courses, lectures and other activities to the students. The preparatory part of SMTB-2021 will take place from July 22 to 31. The main part of SMTB-2021, during which the students will work on projects, will take place from August 3 to 21.

SMTB Admission Committee has sent the results of the admission to SMTB-2021. We received many great applications, about 7 for every place at the school. We had more than 130 interviews with candidates.
SMTB-2021 Admission Results Delay
The Admission Committee is still working on all applications to SMTB-2021. This year the decision process is taking us more time than usual. We are working hard to be able to share the results with each applicant as soon as possible. We will keep you posted and share the news on our Facebook page and SMTB website when the results are announced.

The admissions to the School of Molecular and Theoretical Biology 2021 is now closed. Due to the current pandemic situation we are not sure if SMTB is possible offline in 2021. If the situation improves, SMTB-2021 will take place at the University of Tartu in Estonia from 3 to 19 August, 2021. If not, SMTB 2021 will provide an online experience, similar to that we have done in 2020, that will start in mid-July and end in mid-August. The final decision, and the exact dates for the online version, will be announced at the end of April.

In memory of M. A. Roytberg
On August 16, one day before the conference session of SMTB 2017, Mikhail Abramovich Roytberg passed away during complex surgery to remove a malignant tumor.
